Natan & Avital Sharansky remember Dr. Lou Rosenblum

When I (Natan) met Lou at the end of 1973 with the group of young activists, he was already a legend.  Ten years before any of us thought about the struggle, years before Jewish establishment decided to act, and even before Eli Wiesel came back from the Soviet Union with his book "The Jews of Silence”, Lou already created the first branch of the first grassroots organization Union of Councils for Soviet Jews. I’m sure that neither his colleagues in NASA, or his friends from Cleveland had any idea about the unique historical role that he played in the struggle for Soviet Jewry. This combination of deep thinking, wisdom, initiative, and modesty was absolutely amazing.

May you all be comforted by the wonderful memories of his outstanding life.
