Seven residents of Ufa, Russia (Republic of Bashkortostan) are on
trial in connection with multiple attacks on minorities, according to
a June 26, 2009 report by the Regnum news agency. The defendants, who
range in age from 14-23 years old, face hate crimes charges.
Prosecutors accuse them of being members of a neo-Nazi gang who beat
and stabbed a Turkish citizen, and assaulted a citizen of Vietnam and
two citizens of Russia whom they thought were foreigners.
